Guests

We are hosting a newborn calf and its mother in our small trap for our neighbors. Big Mac is only two days old in these pictures. He was approximately 108 lbs. when he was born. His mother, a first-time calving heifer, was in labor for over fours (mainly because of how big he was), so she had to be taken to the vet where they helped her calve.

Big Mac is the brownish red calf in the pictures below. The black cow is his momma (his dad and mom may have a red gene somewhere in their bloodline). He is a curiosity to Joshua and the others, who come up to the fence from time to time to check him out.
