Seasons
Autumn has made her presence known. The days are short. It is cold at night. The summer grasses are well on their way to becoming dormant. Frost will be here soon. The leaves have all fallen from the trees on the two pastures behind our home.
This is what some of the trees looked like today.
Here they were, last October 4 ...
and on August 6 ...
I think the whole scene is still beautiful, even without the leaves. Taken individually, each tree may not look pretty. But the scene would not be complete, and beautiful, in "an autumn sort of way", without all the trees being in the picture.
We all go through seasons -- some warm and joyous and bright, others, cold, uncomfortable, painful, maybe even miserable. Families go through seasons, too. But the seasons of life need not separate us from each other, or from our God. Like these seven trees -- abiding, faithful.
The Lord, who never changes, makes things beautiful through different seasons -- ever present, always strengthening, ever nurturing, always loving -- He makes all things beautiful in His time.
