Rainy Friday

.
We had a lot of good rain after midnight and all of today. It filled up our pond, slowed down the advancing armyworms, compacted the soil of our garden a little, and overall, was good for the crimson clover seed that we planted.
.
Our neighbor, Sam St. Romaine, came yesterday (with his tractor and pull-behind tiller) and tilled our garden while I was out buying ryegrass seed in Winnsboro. Last week, Richard Rhodes (that's his and Marsha's hay barn that you see in the distance) used his tractor and disc plough to loosen the soil and kill the weeds that had grown during the summer. We have very helpful neighbors.
.
This garden is ready to be planted. Sam will teach me how to grow broccoli, cauliflower, and a few other winter crops. My elementary school Practical Arts teacher will one day (finally) be proud of me.
.

.
Our truck and Ken's car have been needing a good wash -- I haven't had the time to hose either one since bringing them here. This morning, I moved them outside so the rain could do its magic on them. When the Lord offers to wash our cars, I gladly accept.
