Weeds

Weeds on the pasture are not only unsightly -- they rob the soil of nutrients that are needed by the grasses that cattle eat. When they grow next to an electric fence (which we use to keep predators out and our animals in), they can drain the charge on the fence or worse, cause a short-circuit. The photo below is a healthy-looking weed that has made itself comfortable in the pasture. I thought I would try to discourage it from being so enthusiastic.
