Water Primrose

.
While on the South Tifton field yesterday evening, I noticed a plant that was growing quite robustly around the pond. It was in several parts of the bank that used to be wet and muddy last winter, and in some areas it looked like the plant was creeping toward the middle of the pond.

Unsure whether or not it was going to eventually choke the pond of oxygen, I took pictures which I forwarded via e-mail to our County Agricultural Extension Agent, Mr. Clint Perkins.

Clint responded promptly, and identified the plant as a water primrose.
