We use our rubber gloves a lot around the farm. Water gets inside whenever we reach into the bottom of the water troughs to check a valve, so we throw the gloves in the clothes washer with the rest of the farm laundry. Since we can't dry rubber gloves in the clothes dryer, the fireplace comes in handy for doing that.

That's our brand that you see on the right side of the mantle -- the "AF" stands for Aurora Farm. (I tried our branding iron on this piece of wood one evening.)
