Squeeze Me Tight!

.
Big Red (No. 50) and Cinderella (No. 172) were rather thin when we purchased them from JLor Farm on January 5, so Jim and Ken dewormed them the following day.
.
Whenever cattle are worked on, precautions must be taken to avoid any kind of injury both to them and to the worker.
.
"Are you trying to stare me down?"
.
Putting livestock in a squeeze chute is an effective way to keep them still so that they can be worked on safely and effectively.

After they were worked on in the chute, Ken fed the cattle a few pounds of range cubes as a treat, to ease the stress from the experience. It's like getting a lollipop as you're leaving your doctor's office.
