Yesterday was a good day to work on Joyfulness ("maintaining a good attitude when faced with unpleasant conditions").
.
That's it for that load
.
So, what happened?
.
Ken and I were putting out our last bale of hay (it was speared on the back of the tractor), when we hit a dip in the lane and the hay bale fell and the netting split. I tried to spear the bale using the tractor's front forks but that made it split even more, creating the mess below.
.
So we went and got another bale of hay for the rear, switched out the front forks with the loader bucket, and moved the hay clumps (whatever we could fit in the bucket) one bucket at a time up the lane and into the heifers' hay rack in the Tifton pasture.
.
We saved 99.9% of Brian's good hay but we probably used quite a bit of diesel doing so.
Congatulations on your new baby. We wish you a Merry Christmas from The Neel Family
