Yup, did more shredding with the new tractor today! Jim seeded the pasture around our pond with Ryegrass and Crimson Clover yesterday, and we needed to trim down the grass that's there for the seed to get sunlight and grow.
.
After yesterday and today, I'm getting more used to the shredder and am more confident using it. Jim was able to finish seeding his pastures across the road with Ryegrass, Crimson Clover, and Apache Arrowleaf Clover. It's raining outside right now (8:38 pm Central) -- great for the seed!

It took a long time to get this pasture around the pond shredded. There were some areas on the south dam of the pond that were dangerously steep and I really had to slow down there. I just did my best and got as much of the cover cut in that area. Had to put the tractor on four-wheel drive for added safety.

Tomorrow we move cattle around at Aurora Farm and doctor a cow with a foot problem at JLOR Farm. We need some hay racks here for the winter (I've been borrowing Jim's), so if it rains tomorrow and we can't work with the cattle much, we'll take Jim's trailer and buy a couple of hay racks in Sulphur Springs. Those racks are expensive -- $220.00 each -- but we need them to put out hay for the winter. Your non-tax deductible donations are welcome, anytime.
