An Inch of Rain

.
We had an inch of rain last night. It didn't rain at all during the day today, so Jim and I were able to move the two groups of cattle on our farm to different pastures. The 20 young heifers were moved to the Tifton 85 field on the south pasture adjoining the pond, while the 20 cows (where Miss Molly is) were brought into the 3-acre pasture on the eastside. By doing this, we hope to make the more nutritious Tifton 85 and the volunteer crimson clover (that's starting to come out) available to the heifers. And, we're hoping that in a few days, Miss Molly's team will have eaten down most of the Coastal Bermuda grass on the eastside to allow the Crimson Clover and Ryegrass that Jim seeded this past weekend to sprout.
