After a few overcast and sometimes rainy days, we had a beautiful day today (Saturday, October 24). This photo was taken from our back porch.
The cows finished the hay that Jim put out on October 21 (two, 5-foot round bales in 3 days!), so they have started to notice the fresh coastal bermuda grass and are grazing that down. Good for them (fresh grass), for Brian (their owner who pays for the hay) and for me, too -- I can wait a few days before shredding the pasture to expose the winter seed to sunlight.
